Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Position Summary
The UNC Division of Nephrology and Hypertension within the Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time physician with primarily clinical responsibilities to join its faculty. The physician will work at Divisional clinical sites that include UNC Health Hospital campuses in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, dialysis units and outpatient clinics in Orange and surrounding counties, and the UNC Specialty Care Clinic in Sanford, as well as Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. The position includes the care of patients with the broad spectrum of nephrologic disorders, including chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and glomerular syndromes, as well as post-transplant care (if desired). The faculty member will care for patients in outpatient dialysis clinics that provide hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. In addition, they will provide inpatient and emergency room nephrology consultation, including hemodialysis and continuous dialysis procedures at the sites of clinical care. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD and BC/BE in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Care of patients with chronic kidney disease, especially those with end-stage renal disease. Inpatient and emergency room nephrology consultation, including hemodialysis and continuous dialysis procedures.
