Henry Ford Health System is one of the nation's leading health care providers, offering a seamless array of acute, primary, tertiary, quaternary and preventive care backed by excellence in research and education.
Henry Ford, a Michigan non-profit health care enterprise governed by community leaders, records $3.05 billion in revenues annually while providing $124 million in uncompensated care. The system recorded $112 million in net income in 2005. The system is governed by a 45-member board. Advisory and affiliate boards comprised of 220 trustees provide vital links to the communities served by the system. Henry Ford is managed by President and Chief Executive Officer Nancy Schlichting.
More than 14,900 full-time equivalent employees, including 3,000 nurses and more than 4,000 allied health professionals provide care during more than 2.5 million patient contacts. Henry Ford health care providers perform more than 50,000 ambulatory surgery procedures each year.
Nearly 70,000 patients are admitted to Henry Ford hospitals each year.

Medical/Vision & Dental Care
For most of us, health care coverage is the first thing that comes to mind when we hear the word "benefits." Satisfying our family's health care needs is a significant concern for many of us. Henry Ford Health System understands this and offers 5 different medical/vision options to meet these needs.
Henry Ford Health System offers you and your eligible dependents the opportunity to seek quality dental care on a regular, preventive basis. There are 3 different dental options with varying levels of coverage and co-pays that will meet your needs.
Employee & Dependent Life Insurance
Protecting your family's income in the event of a serious injury or death is a concern many of us have. Financial security can be achieved through personal financial planning. Flex Benefits provides you with an array of life insurance options in increments ranging from 1 to 4 times your salary or fixed amounts of $10,000, $25,000 or $50,000. There are 7 options available.
Flex Benefits also provides Dependent Life Insurance options on an after-tax basis. You can select coverage for your spouse and children in amounts ranging from $1,000 up to $50,000. There are 5 options available.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)
AD&D insurance provides protection against financial hardship when you or a covered dependent suffers an accidental death, loss of limb, paralysis or loss of sight. There are 6 options available in increments of 3, 4 or 5 times your salary and fixed amounts of $20,000, $50,000 and $100,000 of coverage. You can elect coverage for yourself only or include your family.
Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTD)
LTD provides a source of income for you if you are unable to work due to a serious illness or injury. 
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Maximize your tax savings by participating in a health care or day care flexible spending account. You can contribute up to $3,000 per year for the health care FSA and $5,000 per year for the day care FSA on a pre-tax basis. Any money left in the account at the end of the year is forfeited. The IRS calls this the "use it or lose it" rule.
Domestic Partner Benefits
Henry Ford Health System provides the opportunity to purchase medical/vision and dental coverage for same-sex domestic partners. The premiums you pay for this coverage are taxable to you.
Henry Ford Health System provides additional benefits that are not part of the Flexible Benefits Plan. They include:
Adoption Assistance 
Adoption assistance is available up to $2,000 for full-time and up to $1,000 for part-time benefit-eligible employees with 1 year of service for expenses incurred in the adoption process. The lifetime maximum benefit is $10,000.
Combined Time Off (CTO) & Holidays
The CTO program combines vacation, sick and personal time into one bank to provide greater flexibility in utilizing paid time off. 
The System observes 6 holidays plus 2 additional float holidays to use at their discretion.
Retirement Plan
Our pension plan is 100% paid for by HFHS and offers full vesting after 5 years of service (at least 1,000 hours per year) for eligible employees. An optional retirement savings plan with a variety of investment options includes pre-tax employee contributions and a matching contribution by the System. All employees are also offered an opportunity to contribute pre-tax to a tax sheltered annuity 403(b) account.
Ford Motor Company, Daimler Chrysler & General Motors Discount Plan
Full-time, part-time and contingent employees and their spouses can now purchase up to 2 discounted cars per year with this exciting new program through Ford Motor Company, Daimler Chrysler and General Motors.
Child Care Center
Henry Ford Kids Child Care Center is available to assist System employees with child care. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited center has programs designed for infants age 6 weeks to preschooler age 5. Its close proximity to the Detroit Campus, Health Alliance Plan and the System’s corporate office is ideal for lunchtime visits.
Voluntary Benefits 
Employees can purchase auto and home insurance, group legal insurance, pet insurance or long-term care insurance through the convenience of payroll deductions.
