Company History
White-Wilson Medical Center has been an integral part of Florida's Emerald Coast for over 60 years.
Dr. Henry C. White was a healthcare pioneer in Fort Walton Beach. In 1946, he opened the first doctor's office in a house on Brooks Street. He and his family lived upstairs so he could be on call 24 hours a day. Dr. White recognized there was still a need for expansion to be able to provide complete care for his patients. So he added a laboratory, diagnostic x-ray, surgery and a few hospital beds to his clinic.
In 1952, his medical school classmate and friend, Dr. Joseph C. Wilson, joined Dr. White and the foundation of White-Wilson Medical Center was formed. In 1977, the clinic built a facility on Mar Walt Drive, which still operates as the main campus for White-Wilson Medical Center today. During the following years, several satellite practices were opened; the Destin Clinic, the Niceville Clinic, the Primary Care Center addition and the Bluewater Clinic.
Today, White-Wilson Medical Center offers an array of quality healthcare services including primary and specialty care as well as many ancillary services such as full service diagnostic imaging, lab, certified diabetic education, audiology, physical therapy and more.
Our organization has consistently been the first in developing and utilizing new technology. We were first in the area to offer magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and an ultra-fast computerized tomography (CT) scanner.
White-Wilson Medical Center currently has more than 50 physicians in 20 different specialties, making our organization one of the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art outpatient healthcare facilities in the area.
White-Wilson Medical Center continues to grow and expand its presence on the Emerald Coast. Newly developing service centers, such as the Center for Women's Health, the Cardiac Imaging Group, and the NeuroScience Center were designed to fill specific, defined needs within the community. We also offer a certified Diabetic Education program, Urodynamics program, coronary calcium scoring and more. We are constantly staying ahead of the curve with ever-changing healthcare technological advancements to continuously improve the quality of the healthcare services we provide our patients.
